  • " Thanksgiving, 2003; Iraq ...": Here is the link to the "Good Morning Mesopotamia" Travelogue I wrote about spending Thanksgiving, 2003 in Iraq.

  • " NY Times ...": Here's the link to Eric Schmitt's NY Times piece on the floor fight on the Murtha resolution.

    Mullfoto of the Day

My room at the Holiday Inn Express in Great Barrington, Massachusetts come with a Jucuzzi. I know it looks like lips but it is really a Jucuzzi.

    Dear Mr. Mullings:
Are we mistaken, or is there WATER in that Jacuzzi?

Yes. That is water. It had been a long drive from Virginia to Western Massachusetts and I ... Oh, hey, look at the time!

Jacuzzi, by the way, is a brand name for a line of whirlpool baths. Who knew? Click here for a history of the Jacuzzi.

    Catchy Caption of the Day

The photo on the left was taken on Thanksgiving Day, 2003. As I wrote in the Travelogue, I had been in Iraq for about 19 days.

The photo on the right was taken about mid-March 2004. I had been in the war zone for about four months - at this point I still had two months to go.

Not withstanding the 9mm pistol tucked under my left arm (I am left-handed but, I learned, I can shoot with either hand) and the portable GPS device attached to my flak vest, do you detect any differences at all?

    As, in attitude?

Congressman Jack Murtha notwithstanding, I would go back to Iraq tomorrow.
