  • TITLE: "Of Presidents & Kings" I think this might be from a famous quote, but I Googled it and didn't come up with a decent citation.

  • " Carnegie Endowment for International Peace ": Here, if you care, is the link to the Carnegie Endowment's web site.

  • " Don Rickles ":

Perhaps the last of the Borscht Belt comics, Rickles made a career out of snappy comebacks to audiences, "You hockey puck," became his catch phrase.

He was fortunate to be in the cast of one of the finest war movies of all time, "Kelly's Heros."

  • " Coo-coo-cah-choo ": From the 1967 Beatles' song, "I am the Walrus." The chorus went,
    I am the eggman
    They are the eggmen
    I am the walrus
    Coo-coo-cah-choo.

Coo-Coo-cah-Choo also shows up in the Simon & Garfunkle classic, "Mrs. Robinson" between the second (Hide it in a hiding place where no one ever goes) and third (Sitting on a sofa on a Sunday afternoon) verses. The chorus begins with: "Coo-coo-cah-choo Mrs. Robinson ..."

They just don't write songs like that any more.

  • Mullfoto of the Day:

Ok. This is a photo I just came across today.

It was my last night in Baghdad. You can't see it, but I am wearing a Marietta College cap to go with my Corona in one hand and a glass of red wine in the other.

  • Catchy Caption of the Day

I swear this is true. This is the actual caption:

Shown is a print ad from an advertising campaign sponsored by the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation inviting gay tourists to come to Philadelphia. The private tourism group is promoting Philadelphia as a gay-friendly destination.
The tagline reads: Philadelphia - Get your history straight and your nightlife gay.
