Eeeeewwww!

Wednesday, May 7, 2003

  • TITLE: "Eeeeewwww! " Groucho Marx has been quoted as saying that any club which would allow him to join, was not a club he cared to be in. I feel the same way about any organization, like the EU, which includes France.

  • "... Subscription Drive ..."
Still want to subscribe? Take a look here.

  • "... Illion-bay Ollars-day ..." What was known, in the 17th Century when I was a child, as "pig latin." You took the first phoneme of a word and stuck it at the end adding the long "A" sound. My first name, therefore, would be pronounced "Itch-ray." We didn't have Spongebob Squarepants when I was young. We had to make our own fun.

  • "... Billion Dollar Heist ..." Here's the link to the New York Times article about Saddam's son making off with a quick Billion just before the bombs started.

  • "... Washington Times ..." Here's the link to the Bill Gertz piece about even more French duplicity.

  • "... European Union ..." Here are the 15 nations which belong to the EU, all but the UK, Ireland and Denmark allow unfettered travel between the member states:
Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom

  • "... Global Warming ..." Here's the link to the BBC website piece on France and Germany failure to live up to their greenhouse gas promises.

  • "... Cod Fishing ..." And here's the link to the cod problem.

  • "... codpiece ..." From the Merriam-Webster Unabridged:
An often ornamented flap or bag concealing an opening in the front of men's breeches especially in the 15th and 16th centuries.

  • Mullfoto of the Day:

This is a photo of the odometer of the Mullmobile yesterday afternoon.

Trust me on this: Guys think this kind of thing is very cool. Girls ... don't.

    ...And many, many more.
