What's French for Chutzpah?

Friday, April 11, 2003

  • TITLE: "What's French for Chutzpah?" Chutzpah.

  • "... Subscription Drive ..."
Here's the pitch for the Subscription Drive: Go here to read it.

  • "... Chutzpah ..." From Merriam-Webster's Unabridged:
    Supreme self-confidence; Nerve; Gall.

    From Mullster Nicole Marchese:

I'm doing my translation and editing gig from home today, and since I'm working only on Italian and French into English projects, I brought only those dictionaries home with me; the Yiddish<>French one is, alas, back at the office. (Oy vey<>Sacr bleu) However, if I recall correctly, I believe that there are at least two ways to say "chutzpah" in French: "Chirac" and "de Villepin."

As you know, the English word for "chutzpah" is: "French."
