Title: Marietta, Ohio was the first organized settlement in the Northwest Territory. It predates Marietta, Georgia by a way lot.

"Being able to instantly identify 'too crazy…'" The founder and first and second Presidential nominee of the Reform party was H. Ross Perot who dropped out of his first campaign because he thought the Bush (Sr.) campaign had sent the C.I.A. to vandalize his daughter's wedding.

"Sap Alert!" This is a sappy part. Be warned, I am known to cry at Folgers Coffee commercials at Christmas, many Mash episodes, and I once watched the remake of "The Parent Trap" on a flight to Asia three straight times on the in-seat movie channel and cried at the happy ending each and every time.

"Most colleges try …" Mt. Union surpassed one of those professional football teams from Nebraska or somewhere for the most consecutive wins. On Saturday Marietta and Mt. Union were tied 14-14 until just before the end of the half when Mt. Union scored a late touchdown. The final score was about 732 - 21.

"Marietta, by comparison …" This is true. Marietta once made Sports Illustrated for breaking the consecutive LOSS record.

APOLOGY:

On Friday I introduced the new Mullings.com web page and thanked the folks at Campaign Solutions for their work. I was abysmally deficient in not thanking Andrew Jones of Jones Studios (http://www.jstudios.com) for the design and execution of the original Mullings.com web site. He did excellent work, at a very fair price. I recommend him without qualification and apologize for the oversight.
