The Autumn Leaves.

TITLE: The Autumn Leaves.

Music by Joseph Kosma English Lyric by Johnny Mercer

The falling leaves drift by the window, The Autumn leaves of red and gold. I see your lips, the summer kisses, The sunburned hands I used to hold. Since you went away the days grow long, And soon I'll hear old winter's song. But I miss you most of all, my darling, When Autumn leaves start to fall.

* “ … and Al “Let’s-See-Bradley-Do-This Gore…” Al Gore, who was incensed by the Senate’s defeat of the test ban treaty nonetheless didn’t deem it necessary to give up a campaign day in California. However, to be at the White House, in a meeting with the leaders of two-thirds of the branches of the Federal Government, he was there.

* “… continuing resolution …” A resolution which continues funding the government at some pre-determined level while the individual appropriations bills are being worked on. The Government’s fiscal year ended on September 30th. Without a continuing resolution there would be no money to pay the government’s bills.

* “Now that Gore has stabilized …” A recent poll shows Gore maintaining a large lead over Bradley nation-wide and has regained a small lead in New York.

* “Remember that unpleasant business with Loral Corp.?” Several years ago the Loral corporation and Hughes Electronics were accused of giving the Chinese secret information about why their rockets were blowing up. The CEO of Loral at the time, Bernard Schwartz, was a huge donor to the Democrats and the Justice Department never made a firm determination.

* “… Alte Angestellter Burogebaude…” Loosely, Old Executive Office Building.
