Treaties and Entreaties

Title: Treaties and Entreaties. An entreaty is a plea, or request. A draft version of Mullings had the title: “Treaties and Entreaties; Trails and Entrails” but that didn’t make any sense even to me.

… Now, go back exactly one year …” You-know-what was the lying-to-the-grand-jury scandal. You-know-who was the You-Know-Who-In-Chief.

“DuckAndCoverDrill-Dot-Com…” In the fifties and early sixties when I was in grade school (I KNOW your parents were in grade school at the same time, just shut up and listen for a change) we had a regular exercise which required the teacher to shout: “Duck and Cover!” at which time everyone would crawl under their desk, facing away from the window, and cover our heads with our arms.

“EYE-PEA-OH!” The middle word is pronounced like the legume.

“Fabio was there…” The Nelsons are Matthew and Gunnar, the sons of Ricky Nelson who was the son of Ozzie Nelson. They had very long, blonde hair.

“uninominally famous …” Uninominally is a weird extension of the word “uninominal” uni – for “one”; nom – for name; inal for, who knows? Anyway in this usage it obviously means “one known by a single name.” Like Fabio.
