This is a sign just before the only stone bridge on the George Washington Parkway. I've often thought about it being the International Symbol for "Broken Bus."

There's no good place to stop along the Parkway in a car, so I drove my scooter about five miles south of Old Town Alexandria, pulled off the road and took the photo.

Monthly unemployment in the US from June 2010 to June 2011. President Barack Obama said Friday the US economy has "a long way to go" towards a strong recovery, after the government released weak jobs figures showing unemployment crept up to 9.2 percent.

I think it's safe to say that 2011 won't be the "Recovery Summer," either.
