Don't Let the SARS Get in Your Eyes

Thursday, April 24, 2003

  • TITLE: "Don't Let the SARS Get in your Eyes" A pun on the 1952 Perry Como hit, "Don't Let the Stars Get in your Eyes."
Don't let the stars get in your eyes Don't let the moon break your heart Love blooms at night, in daylight it dies

I told you I was phoning this one in.

    Etymology: Middle English in kenebowe
1: in or into a position in which the hand is placed usually on or near the hip so that the elbow projects outward at an angle [her arms went akimbo on her hips -- Donn Byrne]

  • Mullfoto of the Day:

Ok. Here's my whine du jour:

I flew back from Toronto on Delta through JFK in New York. My flight back to Washington Reagan was scheduled for 5:30 pm. At about 4:55 I left the Crown Room to make my way to the gate when I noticed on the monitors that my flight had been cancelled.

I was told I would be bussed (along with the other 4,327 people on the flight) to LaGuardia where we would fly back to Washington on the 6:30 shuttle.

Delta, which is losing billions of dollars per day, put us on a crew bus. Not nearly enough room for all the luggage of a bus-full of overseas travelers.

It was like the Bus from Banglidesh.
