A Busy Time at Justice
Friday, April 7, 2000

  • TITLE: "A Busy Time at Justice" There is a LOT of news which concerns the U.S. Justice Department.

  • "…Greg Craig …" Mr. Craig was, you may remember, one of the principal attorneys for President Clinton during the impeachment proceedings.

  • " … Imperfect Messenger …" I know you're getting tired of this, but I like it. To review the bidding Gore, when he was announcing that campaign finance reform would be the centerpiece of his campaign, called himself an "imperfect messenger." Really. He did!

  • "The mind boggles." Here is a definition of "boggle"
    bog·gle (BAH gul)
    v. bog·gled, bog·gling, bog·gles.
    v. intr.

    1. To hesitate as if in fear or doubt.
    2. To shy away or be overcome with fright or astonishment: "The
mind now boggling at all the numbers on the table, both sides
agreed to a recess of an hour"
    (Henry A. Kissinger).
    3. To botch; bungle.

    v. tr.
To cause to be overcome, as with fright or astonishment.
[Probably from boggle, dialectal variant of bogle.]

  • " … Rutherford B. Hayes Memorial Bunkhouse …" Please don't e-mail me. I KNOW there is no such thing as the Rutherford B. Hayes Memorial Bunkhouse.
