  • TITLE: "Crotchety Tiger, Huffy Dragon" A stupid (and pretty bad) pun on the title of the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon which won Oscars for Best Original Score and Best Foreign Language Film

  • "…Douglas Corrigan…" Better known as "Wrong Way" Corrigan who, in July 1938, was refused permission to fly his single-engine plane to Europe. He took off from the East Coast of the US saying he was going to fly home to California but, instead, ended up in Ireland. He claimed he had intended to fly to California, but had gone the wrong way.

  • "…swoosh …" Nike and Kathy Lee Gifford have both been accused of allowing clothing manufactured for them in China to be made by underpaid and/or mistreated workers.

  • "… Howard Kurtz…" Here's the link to the Dan Rather article.

  • "…What's the frequency?" In October, 1986 Dan Rather reported being mugged by a man who kept shouting Kenneth, what's the frequency?" Years later the man was identified as William Tager who was convicted in a separate attack of having shot an NBC employee outside the Today show studios. The R.E.M tune was based upon this incident.
