  • Title: "The List of Imperfect Messenger." A play on the title of a 1963 movie, "The List of Adrian Messenger a mystery which had a remarkable cast including, George C. Scott, Burt Lancaster, Tony Curtis, Kirk Douglas, Frank Sinatra, and many others. It was directed by John Huston and has nothing whatever to do with this Mullings other than it popped into my mind.

  • "The crack war room …" The War Room is one of the most enduring memories of the first Clinton/Gore campaign. It was system, more than a room, conceived and operated by The James and others. The principal aspects of a war room is having a mechanism for receiving information about your opponent's campaign and being prepared to respond to that information almost instantaneously. When it works - and it's harder than it sounds - it is very, very impressive.

  • "…Tony Soprano look alike contest." Gore wore a weird black knit shirt with a jacket combo. Here it is:
