This is Partisan Gridlock?

Wednesday, January 9, 2002

  • TITLE: "This is Partisan Gridlock?"

We have been promised partisan gridlock every time there is no big war news. Now this.

  • " Ron Brownstein " Here's the link to the column which contained that comment - remember, it was during my time at the Presidential Inaugural Committee.

  • " beyond fury about the Florida " This was less than a month after Al Gore had conceded the election so rhetoric and temperatures were continuing to run very, very high.

  • " El Jorge " And here is the link to the column about George Miller.

  • " Bush league " This is a phrase with its roots in the baseball world. The bush leagues were another way of saying "the minor leagues" which is any league below Major League Baseball. In more modern usage the phrase "bush league" is a derogatory term meaning unprofessional.

  • " Republicans and Democrats playing nicely " I have written this before. There is a Woody Allen line which goes: The lions and the lambs might lay down together but the lambs won't get much sleep.

  •     Mullings' Catchy Caption of the day:

See? It starts with things           and it leads to things like
like this in Boston ...                 this in Brooklyn.
