The Victimization of Hillary
Wednesday, December 1, 1999

  • Having watched the Sunday news programs, a clear pattern has emerged in the campaign of Hillary Rodham Clinton Rodham for U.S. Senator from New York: Mandy Grunwald and The James both began the process of trying to convince us that Hillary is the victim of yet another powerful man.

  • Ms. Grunwald kept talking about the "Sleazy" campaign of Rudy Giuliani while The James talked about going to New York and setting up "anti thuggery committees."

  • Hillary was never so popular as when she was the our National Victim. It is now clear that the people around Hillary Rodham Clinton Rodham are going to try and turn Giuliani into the victimizer in this campaign and generate a new round of sympathy for Hillary.

  • I wonder how The James thinks going New York to do anything on behalf of Hillary will do anything to make New Yorkers forget the carpetbagger issue. Like he blends.

  • Hillary's attack on Mayor Giuliani's policy toward New York City's homeless appears a bit premature. It seems to me she should have waited until she has a house to move into. Her new neighbors will be thrilled when the NYC homeless show up in Chappaqua to get better treatment.

  • The WTO - World Trade Organization - meeting in Seattle should be named the WWTO meeting. Bill Clinton - who is now used to jetting into riot situations having been welcomed with similar demonstrations in Greece last week - is helping us forget this is his meeting; that he unsuccessfully tried to convince other heads of state to attend his meeting; and, he is trying to make us forget ALL the trade deals which have been done over the past seven years are the sole property of the Clinton/Gore administration.

  • Don't like the lack of environmental safeguards? Blame Bill and Al. Don't like the child labor safeguards? Blame Bill and Al. Don't like jobs moving offshore? Blame Bill and Al.

  • That being the case, can anyone explain why John Sweeney - the President of the AFL-CIO which endorsed Al Gore for President a couple of weeks ago - has not blamed Bill OR Al?

  • Remember all the demagoguing about the "new isolationists in the Republican Party" last month after the defeat of the Test Ban Treaty? I'm not staying up all night waiting for Bill Clinton to wag his finger in the face of the "new isolationists in the AFL-CIO."

  • A curfew was imposed last night in Seattle. It is not true that this is in response to a long-standing request by Hillary that a curfew be imposed in any city where Bill is traveling without her.

  • Mullings gets a mention in "Brill's Content" magazine in the January issue. In an article on where people get their news, U.S. Representative Heather Wilson's (R-NM) news diary for October 6 has the following: "At 2:10 she spent 10 minutes reading her e-mail and checked out Mullings.com, a political-commentary site."

  • By the way, the Mullings Congresswoman Wilson was reading was the famous re-casting of "The Day the Earth Stood Still".

  • Everyone raise hands who is surprised that the New York publisher which is planning to re-issue the discredited book about George W is named - this is true - Soft Skull Press.
