    From Indianapolis, Indiana

  • In computer-speak there occasionally appears on your screen the error message that you have committed a "Sharing Violation" which usually occurs when one computer on a network attempts to access a file which is in use by another computer on that network.

  • A "Sharing Violation" also occurs when you have a Senate race which includes people with the last names: Clinton, Rodham, Giuliani, and Hanover.

  • We don't want to know. We JUST-DO-NOT-WANT-TO-KNOW!

  • After any type of major medical trauma - whether coronary by-pass surgery, or a diagnosis of cancer - a patient is typically warned not to make any serious decisions for several weeks following the trauma. Mayor Giuliani, obviously, did not get - or did not heed - that advice.

  • Once again we will have a real-life summer romance novel played out on the front pages of at least three major daily newspapers - every day.

  • The newest Voter.com Battleground poll was released yesterday. It's just about all good news for George W. and the Republican Congress and just about all bad news for Al Gore and the Congressional Dems. Just a sample (the full poll can be found at HERE): George W. has a six point lead in the head-to-head (48-42); the Congressional Generic vote is tied at 41; Bush has a 10 point lead among men and a two point lead among women.

  • Daily Press Alert: In yesterday's Washington Post business section there was an article by Glenn Kessler regarding the Bush tax plan. The headline was: "Bush Plan Won't Give Rich Quite the Break They Expected."

  • The headline could just as easily have said: "Bush Plan More Balanced Than Opponent Charges." Hahahahahahahahahaha.

  • Oh, here's news: The South Carolina legislature has come up with a compromise to remove the Confederate flag from the Statehouse dome. The people of South Carolina solved their own problem. In their own way.

  • Let's go to the Way Back Machine and remember which candidate for President - on either side of the aisle - said the people of South Carolina were smart enough to figure this out without a bunch of people who live there for about five days exactly every four years putting in their two cents? Oh, yes. George W.

  • The crack U.S. Forest Service, which is a part of the Clinton/Gore Administration, decided to do a little preemptive burning in New Mexico recently. That small planned fire has now caused the evacuation of tens of thousands of residence of the Los Alamos area.

  • Los Alamos is, of course, one of the nation's premier weapons laboratories where highly sophisticated research into nuclear weapons is conducted.

  • Wild fire. Nuclear weapons. Major, MAJOR sharing violation.

  • My excellent friend, Frances Hooper and her family live not too far from the lab and may, in fact, have been evacuated by the time you read this. When I called her the other day she said at night they could see the glow from the fire. I said if that fire reached the lab, they would ALL be glowing for a half life of about 150,000 years.

  • Is it just possible that the Clinton Administration started this fire to get rid of the evidence of Chinese espionage at the lab at Los Alamos, thereby helping (at once) Vice President Al Gore and Energy Secretary Bill Richardson? I know its not possible. I know that. That's not possible. Is it?
